Rented a home from Tina Mccabe worst experience I have ever had problem after problem with the home that was never resolved. Hole in the roof water leaking into a light fixture, the electrician who came to do work didn't have recepticals I had to provide my own, also had to provide my own smoke detector and now that it's over of course it's all my fault. Do yourself a favor and stay far away in my opinion.

  • My kids are both in middle school now, and I must say that I'm SO glad to be done with Winterpock. Yes, it's a Blue Ribbon school and yes, I do think it is one of the best around, with mostly great teachers who truly care about the kids, but if you have a child with a learning or behavioral condition, dealing with the school is exhausting. (And some of the parents are very overbearing. The one year I actually got lectured over the phone by the parents of one of my children's so called “friends". I don't need that kind of drama.) Anyway, school administration has changed since my kids were there, but speaking in regards to our experience at Winterpock, no one wanted to acknowledge my son's ADHD issues. We came from a private school in PA to Winterpock, and I fought with the school for the first 2 years we were here before they would acknowledge that my son needed special accommodations. I was told that because he wasn’t failing yet, they didn’t need to do anything. I felt like the school was purposely trying to wear me down so I'd give up, and I didn't, but it was exhausting. The school claims they want parents to be involved in their children's education, but that's not entirely true. If your child needs any special considerations, you will have to fight the system just to get the help your child deserves. I felt like I was permanently labeled as a troublemaker by the school, and also felt like my kids were treated differently because of my "bad reputation". I was so happy when my youngest child graduated from Winterpock last year. It's refreshing to start over at a new school where we have a clean slate. My kids love middle school, and they're doing well. I have to admit that because of the education they received at Winterpock, they were better prepared for middle school than the kids who came from other elementary schools. It's just a shame how we felt blackballed while we were at Winterpock. Another thing my children pointed out is how nasty the office staff at Winterpock was when they attended. I noticed this myself the numerous times I had to go into the school office. The secretaries, especially the one in particular, always seemed to be grouchy, miserable, and acted irritated about having to interact with anyone. I never saw them greet anyone with a smile when I was present. (They conveniently never knew who I was, nevermind I was there 2- 3 times a week over a 6 month period the one year, and they had to pull my child's card for me to sign out on each time. I dreaded going in there and being treated the way that I was.) When my kids started middle school, they remarked at being surprised by how nice and friendly their office staff is. I, too, was pleasantly surprised when I was actually greeted with smiles and chit chat at the middle school office. We were so used to the way we were treated at Winterpock that we expected nothing better. I'm not sure if there's been a change in Winterpock's office staff since we left, but hopefully they have nicer people working there now.

Horrible bank, horrible staff. I found out they offer free ATM fees but you have to know about it and you have to take your statement in to the bank to have them waive the fee. It costs me more in my time and effort than it does to get the $2 back. The girls in this office are not nice.
